About Fall Flag

Flag is Fun!

The York Region Lions flag program is a great way to learn football fundamentals, while meeting new friends and getting outside! It's a great opportunity to find out why flag football is the fastest growing sport in Ontario. With a structured program featuring 5 on 5 or 7 on 7 competition formats, boys and girls will learn speed, passing and most importantly - fun!

Non-Contact Programs

Our flag football programs are non contact. 

U8 - players born in 2015, 2016, 2017

U10 - players born in 2013 & 2014

U12 - players born in 2012 & 2011

U14 - players born in 2009 & 2010

Program Structure

Our program runs September and October. Each age group will have two sessions per week (except for long weekend weeks) that are 1 hour long. Sessions include skill development, learning plays, competition between groups. The first ten minutes are warm up, with 20 minutes of practice and 30 minutes of inter-age group games. York Region Lions coaches follow the YRFA Flag Program Book for 5 a side to ensure a smooth transition between age groups. 

When & Where We Play

The program begins September 6th (Tuesday). Our final session is October 28th. We play Tuesdays and Fridays in Aurora, from 6-7PM. Details below.

Tournaments

We will host two tournaments towards the end of the Fall season for our flag division.

Fall Flag Invitational - Saturday, October 1, 2022 - location to be determined

Aaron Bank Sedore Memorial Cup - Saturday, October 22, 2022 - location to be determined
