Full Contact Tackle Football Programs (Fall 2025)

Our tackle football programs are full-contact and designed to teach players fundamental techniques with a strong focus on "heads-up" football. Players are introduced to competition only after they are comfortable with the core fundamentals learned through our Lions programming. Please note that playing time is not guaranteed.

Age Groups & Teams (Fall 2025):

• U10: Players born in 2016-2017 (6-a-side)

• U12: Players born in 2014-2015 (9-a-side)

• U14: Players born in 2012-2013 (12-a-side)

Cost: $600

Program Structure:

• Season Duration: Mid-August through September and October.

• Practices: Two practices per week (excluding long weekend weeks), each 2 hours long.

  • Typically held on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays.

  • Sessions include skill development, play learning, and group competition.

• Game Days: 6-8 game days on weekends. Approximately half of these will be 'home' games.

• Homefield: St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic High School (CHS) in Aurora, Ontario.

Equipment Provided:

We provide all necessary equipment for tackle programs, except for football cleats. All helmets are certified as mandated by Football Canada. Your registration fees include the use of:

• Helmet (fitted to your player)

• Shoulder pads (fitted to your player)

• Game pants

• Belt

• Mouthguard

Where & When We Practice/Play:

York Region Lions Football is proud to call Aurora, Ontario its home. We utilize fields in both Newmarket and Aurora.

• TBC Tackle Practices: Mondays/Wednesdays, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS in Aurora.

Registration:

Registration for the Fall tackle season is now open! Roster spots fill up quickly, so don't delay. The cost is $600.
