Become a Coach
Coaching with York Region Lions Football is a rich and rewarding experience. We are currently recruiting for 2024 assistant coaches for both flag and tackle:
Application
Coaches are required to complete a coaching application, and if shortlisted, provide an updated Vulnerable Sector Screening.
The York Region Lions Football Association will reimburse contracted coaches for the cost of obtaining an updated screening.
Please click below to complete the online Coaching Application and submit in confidence. Applications for 2024 coaching positions will be accepted until May 1, 2024.
* Football Ontario for Coaching registry. (Select either Tackle or Flag). Turn in the receipt for insurance reimbursement.

* The Locker.ca This is where they will get their NCCP number and coach insurance. do all eLearning to be a coach in 2024.
After acquiring the NCCP and creating an account and following instructions to eLearning they will select:
* Community Novice Coach: Combined - Non-Contact & Tackle
* Safe Contact 2.0 Refresher
Note: It is the expectation that all selected head coaches will participate in the York Region Lions Winter Football Academy.
Screening
All new coaches must provide a current vulnerable sector screening. Head coaches from the previous seasons must provide a new screening every two years. Unsure if you need to provide a new screening? Reach out to Coaching@yorkregionfootball.com
