Our Homefield


York Region Lions homefield is located at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS, 278 Wellington Street East, Aurora, ON; however any field where we host a game is subject to these guidelines. The field type is turf. There are washrooms on site and ample parking. The Town of Aurora and the leagues we participate in have strict guidelines for turf field use, please see below.

Parking

Parking is free and on school grounds.

 

Gate Fees

Gate fees are in effect for all OPFL games and OFL playoff games:

Adults - $5

Students/Seniors - $3

Under 12 - free

 

Turf Access

Is for players and coaching staff only. Parents and spectators must remain well back from the turf at all times, including after the game has ended. Those not on the roster will be asked to return to the seating area.

 

Seating

Spectators are permitted in the bleachers only. Those settling on the track or sidelines will be asked to relocate to the bleachers/seating area.

 

Swag & Snacks

Chips and beverages will be available for purchase at the gate. The York Region Lions swag table will be set up for cash purchases.

 

After Game Procedure

Parents/spectators are not permitted on or near the turf. While on field team handshakes are the prerogative of the coaching staff, effective immediately parents are not permitted to line the field to shake the hands of both teams. Parents/spectators approaching the track or turf will be asked to return to the seating area until both teams have cleared the field.

 

Tents

Per Town of Aurora guidelines, team tents are to be set up on the turf, not on the track. Spectator tents are permitted in the stands only. Please consider other spectator viewing when setting up a tent.

 

 

Washrooms

There are facilities available on site.

 

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited on any school property, or within the fenced field area. Per Smoke Free Ontario, it is illegal to smoke on and around education institutions, sports fields and surfaces owned by a municipality. The York Region Tobacco Control Officers regularly patrol this area and enforce legislation.

 

Pets

Pets are not permitted within the fenced field area, service animals excepted.
