Injuries

York Region Football is committed to safe participation in both flag and tackle disciplines. All our coaches are Safe Contact certified, and our team managers work closely with coaches and the YRFA Board to ensure the if injuries occur, the player's safety and health is put first.

Trainers

YRFA provides trainers, including trainers to travel with each team to away games.

Injury Protocol

If a player is injured during a practice or game, they are assessed. You can appreciate that some injuries are mild, and require a rest on the sidelines. Others require medical attention. The trainer will direct the player, the manager is a conduit of information for parents, and will log injuries. When a medical note is required to return, that should be submitted to your team manager. Thank you in advance for following medical protocol when medical clearance is requested.

Emergency Action Plan

YRFA has an EAP in place for both practices and home games. Thank you in advance for ensuring that all emergency contacts are updated in your player's profile, and for following board and team manager instruction during the management of incidents.
